FAQ, Frequently asked Questions
If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for from the frequently asked questions below, please email us at ikonicvisionexpress4less@gmail.com and we will do our best to answer your question that same day.

I'm baffled by my prescription, what can I do?

Don'y worry! We have provided a short video demonstration and an easy to follow text explanation of your prescription and anything you might find written on it right here on the website: just go to the "Your Prescription" section of the website.

Can I just order frames without prescription lenses in them?

Yes! Just tick "Buy Now" and enter "Plano" in the left and right "Sph" drop down menus in the prescription area of the web page, Put a zero in for all other drop downs. We will then send you your frame(s) with non-prescription lenses in them.

What Type of Lenses do I need?

  • Choose "Distance" if You wear your glasses all day, do not have either bifocals or varifocals and you mostly need glasses for long distance viewing such as driving etc.
  • Choose "Computer / Reading" if you mostly need your glasses for viewing things which are at arms length away such as computers, documents & Books.
  • Choose "Enhanced Reading" only if you have been specifically recommended them by your optician for viewing things at arms length away.
  • Choose "Bifocals" if you've had these before, you like them and your optician recommends them.
  • Choose "Varifocals" if you've already owned and liked a pair and you need different prescriptions for close up, intermediate and long distances.
  • Choose "Transitions" if you want glasses that automatically darken in response to sunlight, you've already owned a pair and liked them.

When you say "free standard lenses in 2-for-1 deals", what exactly do you mean by "standard"?

Standard lenses tend to be old fashioned in design. Physically they are the thickest / heaviest choice - but hey, have a look, our lens package deals are usually the cheapest around. If you buy only one pair of glasses "Standard lenses" refers to single vision lenses only and precludes bifocal, varifocal and photochromic lenses. When you buy one of our 2-for-1 deals, you have the option of getting free budget single vision in both pairs. For bifocal or varifocal lenses, we offer a complimentary set of standard bifocal or varifocal lenses in one pair of frames only and then you'll have to buy the lenses for the second pair. (don't panic, our prices for lenses are up to 92% cheaper than some of our more illustrious competitors).

Do you sell Bifocal or Varifocal lenses?

  • Yes we do sell Bifocal and Varifocal Lenses. In the case of varifocal we will need PD measurements taken by an optician: see our Buying Guide for details. We will also require you to send us an old pair of varifocals that you were happy with so that we can take the centre measurement (it doesn not matter if they were for an old prescription now out of date).

Do you sell Childrens Glasses?

No, we don't sell prescription glasses for children.

Are there any prescriptions that you do not fill?

We choose not to fill some prescriptions because they require extra-accurate fitting which is better carried out by your local optician, [although you can buy-frames-only if you wish].
Hence we shall not fill prescriptions where:
  • The cylinder value exceeds +/-4.00 in magnitude.
  • The prism correction exceed a value of 3.00 in any direction.
  • The numerical sum of sphere and cylinder values exceed +/-8
  • The difference between right and left sph values is greater than 5.00D

How long will my order take?

Usually 3 - 14 working days excluding dispatch. If any items are out of stock, you will be notified via email or telephone of an approximate delivery date. As soon as your order has been despatched from our warehouse you will receive an email to confirm this. We aim to be the fastest eyewear retailer, with 80% of single vision pairs despatched in the UK within five working days of being ordered. Some orders take longer due to the more complex lens combinations e.g. varifocals but we'll keep you informed every step of the way!
We work hard to ensure even the most complex prescriptions are despatched within 14 days. If the country is snow bound for periods in winter then this will have an effect on delivery. We ask for your forebearance, your order will get to you as soon as humanly possible in such circumstances.

I have seen a frame in my opticians, would you be able to get them for me?

No. We only display items shown on our website.

What do I need to place an order?

All you need to order with us is a copy of your prescription. It is recommended that this should be less than two years old. If it is older than two years, you will need to have your eyes tested with your local or high street optician and they must, by law, provide you with a copy of your prescription. You should check your prescription to see that every part of it has been filled in and ask your optician to complete it if this is not the case. Your optician is duty bound by law to oblige in this regard.

What if I don’t like my glasses?

Your order with ikonicvisionexpress4less should be made upon the basis that you liked the glasses frames enough order them having tried them on virtually live (if you have a web-cam) or else over a photograph of your face using our online virtual Try On System.
Returns and reparations to the customer may only be made under terms as set out in our terms and conditions which you agree to at time of purchase: We are happy to accept any returns due to manufacturing defects. All of our frames are covered by a one year warranty against manufacturing defects. Returns made on the basis of aesthetics shall only be allowed within seven days of receipt of your new glasses; in such circumstances, frame cost shall be refunded in full along with 50% of the lens costs. We do not refund delivery charges.

What if my frames require adjusting after I receive them?

If your feel your frames require a minor adjustment, most optical stores will carry this out. Usually they will do this without charge but in some cases a small fee may be applicable.

What is your guarantee policy?

All of our frames are covered by a one year warranty against manufacturing defects. The guarantee covers goods that have a manufacturing fault or in the unlikely event of an error in the prescription on your frames. If this happens please return your goods along with your order number with any cases or cloths to us, we will then replace them free of charge, or provide a full refund less delivery charges (which are non-refundable) on receipt of the goods. It is probably best to keep your confirmation of order email for just this eventuality. Buyers of rimless glasses who disregard our advice and opt for 1.67 or 1.74 index lenses cannot claim guarantee on broken or chipped lenses because these are highly likely to break or chip when used in rimless frames. Better to follow our advice instead and opt for 1.60 index and get a guarantee with them!

An Item is missing from my order
